Healthy
Constant Temperature
The practice for most Kiwis is to spend the evening in a living area overheated by a large fire or similar and then head to the bedrooms where the air temperature is sometimes 20°C less.
This drastic change of temperature plays havoc on the respiratory system and is why many Kiwi’s are ill with colds frequently and kids have running noses.
It is far more healthy to live in an evenly heated home. You and the kids will spend less time off sick.
Clean Air
Systems that blow air also blow dust and allergies around the home. The air is often dried out and can irritate the eyes and throat.
The ducts for transporting air are also places that can harbour dust mites and other germs. Duct work is difficult to clean and any odours are transferred around the house.
With warm water central heating, there are no forced air movements and no cleaning of ducts required.
