In July 2020, the new Te Nikau Grey hospital was opened. The 8,500m² facility includes 56 in-patient beds, 3 operating theatres, and a 24/7 emergency department. The new modern facility was well received by those living on the West Coast, replacing an old and out of date facility ensuring the local community will have better access to healthcare and will benefit from high quality integrated services.
