Approach:

Central Heating New Zealand provided 7 Baxi Power HT floor-standing condensing gas boilers with stainless steel combustion chambers and electronic cascade management. The boilers provided the specified 920kW of required heat. The heating solution designed by BECA included radiators, underfloor, and trench heaters. Underfloor heating provided the ideal solution for the open spaces of the auditorium. Radiators heated meeting and classrooms and trench heaters were specified to combat façade loss which was exacerbated by the building’s heavily glazed design

Outcome:

Te Toki a Rata has become the heart of the first-year experience at Victoria University. The tailored heating solution provides a comfortable environment in which students study Social Sciences, Science, Engineering, Education and Health.
